Official Inauguration of Shenzhen Outbound Alliance

On the afternoon of April 8, the grand opening of 2016 Shenzhen Outbound Summit was held in the Huaxia Hall of Shenzhen Wuzhou Guest House. The summit was hosted by the Economic, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, organized by Shenzhen Outbound Alliance and co-organized by the Statistical Society for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Shenzhen. It consisted of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Alliance, contract signing and the international exchange conference themed on “Going Global, Connecting the World”.

In the opening speech, Chen Biao pointed out that Shenzhen had given full play to the export-oriented economy, independent innovation, modernized industries and prime regional location, and that the city had pressed home its resources and advantages in domestic and overseas markets since it adopted the significant strategy of “going global”. With the great breakthroughs achieved, Shenzhen Outbound Alliance would assist the enterprises to expand overseas business. Chen Biao sincerely hoped that the alliance could integrate all resources and provide all-round support for enterprises in terms of communicating government policies, observing the market dynamics, providing professional services, training talents and preventing risks and sharing successful experiences.

Then the Inauguration and Contract-signing Ceremony of Shenzhen Outbound Alliance was witnessed by Government leaders such as Chen Biao, Vice Mayor, Li Guoliang, Special Commissioner from the Special Commissioner’s Office in Shenzhen of Ministry of Commerce of PRC, Gao Lin, Deputy Director of Economic, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality and guests like Linus Xiao, the Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation (hereinafter referred to as APECF). The Alliance signed strategic cooperation agreements with 12 organizations, which are APECF, Shenzhen Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration), International Department of the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank, IDA Ireland, Shenzhen Mediation Center of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Company of China, Ltd., Institute Of Public Accountants of Australia, KPMG China, Ernst & Young and Dentons.
Linus Xiao, Li Guoliang and Gao Lin expressed their best wishes and expectations for the Alliance. Sun Tianlu, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary General of Shenzhen Outbound Alliance presented the work plan of the Alliance in 2016 and its goal of boosting enterprises to expand overseas business. In doing so, the Alliance will set up a comprehensive service platform and provide services including information communication, talent hiring, financing and risk prevention.

In the following International Exchange Conference themed on “Going Global, Connecting the World”, Mr. Wang Chuanfu, an eminent figure in Shenzhen new energy industry and the first Chairwoman of Shenzhen Outbound Alliance, delivered a presentation on how new energy companies under new circumstances could seize opportunities in the industry and avoid investment risks while “going global”.
Before the conclusion of the Summit, Zhang Ju, the first Vice Chairwoman of Shenzhen Outbound Alliance and Vice President and Secretary of the Party Committee of Hytera, moderated a panel discussion aimed at providing innovative financial support for enterprises going global. Financial experts including Linus Xiao, Wang Weifeng, Associate Principal, McKinsey & Company, Chen Rixiang, Deputy General Manager of the Shenzhen Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, Tian Ying, Deputy General Manager of the International Department of the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank, Peter Kung, Vice Chairman of KPMG China, and Michael Humphreys, Vice President of International Projects of Control Risks, exchanged opinions on "going global" and Shenzhen’s financial innovation model. In the meantime, they gave counsel for enterprises going global in terms of exploring overseas markets and preventing risks.

The 2016 Shenzhen Outbound Summit attracted 380 representatives, who came from Shenzhen-based companies that wish to “go global”, industrial associations, and foreign and regional institutions in China, including those of Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, Japan, and Hong Kong. The participants agreed that this Summit has significantly facilitated the implementation of the “going global” initiative and inspired companies to develop overseas markets.
