On December 9, Vice President and Secretary General of the Alliance Sun Tianlu carried out business visit to Vietnam with enterprises, and China • Vietnam (Shenzhen-Haiphong) Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone was put into full operation in Haiphong, Vietnam. It is the first overseas industrial development base of Shenzhen, and also an important platform showing brands made in Shenzhen as well as expanding overseas influence. Meanwhile, nine enterprises entered into intent to enter the Zone. Ambassador of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong, Secretary of the Haiphong Party Committee of Vietnam Le Van Thanh, Mayor of Haiphong Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen Chen Biao and other leaders attended Commencement Ceremony and Signing Ceremony Activity.

Shenzhen-Haiphong Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is located in Haiphong, the largest port city in North Vietnam, with the planning area of 2km2. The total investment is USD 175 million, the first installment of investment in capital construction was completed at the end of October 2017, and it is expected to be fully completed by 2021. The Zone will attract more than USD 1 billion of investment after being fully completed, and create more than 30,000 employment posts. The industry in the Cooperation Zone is positioned to be light manufacturing-oriented, and importance is attached to introducing green technology enterprises with brand recognition and international competitiveness. Demands of green technology enterprises are fully taken into consideration in the planning and design of the Cooperation Zone, the planning and design notion and fashion elements of high-end industrial parks are integrated, green ecological and sustainable development are highlighted, and 3 standard plants, office buildings, meeting centers and other green buildings as well as a rainwater park, a sports recreation park, 23 hectares of green space and 5.5km greenway and other public facilities are equipped.

In November 2015, President Xi Jinping specially mentioned the acceleration of promoting the construction of Haiphong An Duong Industrial Park (name of Shenzhen-Haiphong Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Vietnam) and actively attracting investment in the Joint Statement published by the parties during his visit to Vietnam.
