Opening Ceremony of ICEES
At local time 10am on November 7, 2018, the International Consumer Electronics Expo (ICEE) • South Africa was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
ICEE•South Africa 2018 is a session of the global consumer electronics expo, and this is the second consecutive year it was held in South Africa.

On the opening day, Janine Fredericks, Deputy Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of South Africa, Zanele Katembo, Director of International Relations Department of Ekurhuleni, Sbusiso Dlamini, CEO of Ekurhuleni Aerotropolis Project Office, Bulumko Nelana, CEO of Buffalo City Development Agency (BCDA), Zheng Xuan, Deputy Inspector and Qiu Xiaonan, Deputy Director of Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Li Xinzhu, President of All Africa Association of Peaceful Reunification of China, Chiboni Evans, CEO of South African Electronic Export Council (SAEEC), Naomi Koeberg, Vice President of Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Herman Breedt, President of Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Li Guodong, President of South African Chinese Entrepreneurs Association attended the ceremony.
Approximately 100 consumer electronics companies from Shenzhen attended the Exhibition in South Africa. Zhou Gang, Deputy Secretary General of SOA, Chiboni Evans, CEO of SAEEC and Craig Wing, Future Scientist, exchanged their views and insights.

At the Exhibition, Zhou Gang accompanied Zheng Xuan, visited the booths and communicated with participating enterprises, learning about their needs and difficulties of developing oversea markets and sharing knowledge of the local market as well as resources of South Africa.

The Organizing Committee of ICEE•South Africa 2018 carefully selected more than 400 manufacturers to attend the Exhibition, covering communication products and accessories, hardware, software and peripherals, portable electronics and accessories, game console & accessories, wearable devices, wireless devices, data storage devices, automotive electronics products, smart home appliance, security system, bluetooth product, emerging technologies, unmanned system and IOT devices.

At 2 pm local time on November 7, South Africa Production Capacity Cooperation Meeting China (Shenzhen) 2018, organized by Economy, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality and undertaken by Shenzhen CZE World Trade Exhibition Co., Ltd. and South African Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, was held at the exhibition centre.

South Africa is the largest and most advanced economy in Africa and the gateway to the sub-Sahara region with 250 million consumers. It is also the largest trade partner of China in Africa. China represents the number one trade partner, largest export destination and source of import of South Africa. The trade between the two countries takes up 20% of the China - Africa trade. South Africa is the largest market for consumer electronics and the suppler country of electronics for neighbouring countries such as Botswana.
As a professional consumer electronics exhibition in South Africa, ICEES is a platform for Chinese enterprises to explore African markets and to communicate face-to-face with African purchasers, providing important orders and business cooperation opportunities. The Event is a critical chance for consumer electronics enterprises from China, especially from Shenzhen, to enter the South African markets. It represents a big step forward on the journey of going out and has achieved fruitful deliverables.
