"The Reconstructing of Global Supply Chain of the Post-pandemic Era" live series held successfully

Held by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), SFIEC and SOA, supported by "Statistical Society for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Shenzhen" and Roadlink GLB, the rst session of "The Reconstructing of Global Supply Chain of the Post-pandemic Era-The Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Southeast Asia" live series,  was broadcasted live on May 21st, 2020. The live broadcast activities were conducted synchronously via the Tencent Conference and the WeChat Group. More than 250 entrepreneurs, heads of business associations and representatives of foreign institutions registered to participate.

The live session was presided by Yijing Zeng, the representative for Shenzhen from HKTDC, Cong Cao, Secretary-General of SFIEC, and Lucy Sun, the Executive Chairman of SOA, focusing on "the reconstruction of supply chains of and between the GBA and Southeast Asia". Southeast Asia is adjacent to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. These two regions are interdependent on each other, tied with profound cultural bonds, and have already formed a closely-linked regional supply chain system.

The topic "explore the opportunities, challenges and reconnect the supply chains between the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia in the post-epidemic era" was covered and presented by three special guests with extensive experience in cross-border business practices, namely Tianwei Huang, the chief representative for Southeast Asia and South Asia, Chunshun Huang, the CIO of Amata Corp., and Bing Zhao, the president of Thai-China Rayong Industrial Zone.


They shared their insightful ideas on the following topics: "The impact of the Sino-US trade war and the coronavirus pandemic on the manufacturing industry in Southeast Asia and international supply chain ", "Opportunities for economic cooperation in the Greater Mekong Sub-region after the pandemic" and "The experience of GBA enterprises in investing in Southeast Asia". the audience interacted with them enthusiastically.

 

 Lucy Sun, the Executive Chairman of SOA gave a brief overview of the alliance, to help enterprises "go global" to carry out international investment, trade cooperation and develop overseas markets, promoting the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative, conducting comprehensive services including information exchange, nancial support, talent cooperation, risk prevention, market research, providing comprehensive supports and protections for multinational operations of enterprises.

 

"The First Session of The Reconstructing of Global Supply Chain of the Post-pandemic Era live series: The Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia" was held successfully. Looking at the GBA and Southeast Asia, focusing on the profound inuence on the global supply chain from the context of the global pandemic and the tensions between China and the US, the rst live session provided insightful observations and recommendations to help companies adjust their supply chains and production layouts, and to address all kinds of threats and challenges.
