In the afternoon of November 15, the Seminar on Practical International Arbitration Experience and its Relation with Patent Disputes was held smoothly at Point-Line Space Professional Service Exchange Center on 6F of Great China International Financial Center, Futian District. It was sponsored by the Alliance and Beijing Office Alston&Bird LLP, and organized by the Statistical Society for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Shenzhen . Over 70 enterprise and institution representatives attended the seminar, including DJI Innovations Co., Ltd., Hytera Communications Corporation Limited, Shenzhen Holpe Commercial Chain Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Skyworth-RGB Electronics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Qianhai Dingsong Investment Co., Ltd. Sun Tianlu, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary General of the Alliance made a speech at the meeting, introduced the major distinguished guests and explained the main content of meeting. 

In the keynote part, Su Huilun, Partner of the Beijing Branch of Alston&Bird LLP, firstly explained the advantages and disadvantages of arbitration and the comparison among major arbitration agencies. Su also told how an institution involved in an infringement action overseas should respond at the key nodes of lawsuit arbitration, in order to reduce the loss and protect its right and interest. Then, Zhang Zhang, Partner of Shenzhen Qianhai Dingsong Investment Co., Ltd., explained that third party funding is a kind of new mode of risk investment adopted by relevant investment agencies in such legal dispute resolution fields like civil action, and it can help the parties to civil action obtain capital from a third party investment agency to pay the expense incurred by the action and support the litigious activity.

During the empirical case analysis sharing, Eddy Lee (Li Zhiguang), Senior Director of FTI Consulting Co., Ltd., explained how enterprises should guarantee its interest, avoid risks, and reduce damages in business dispute and patent cases; Liu Jing, Senior Consultant of Hui Zhong Law Firm, explained the arbitration from the perspective of arbitrators, and told how enterprises and institutions involved in action arbitration should consider issues from the perspective of arbitrators, and based on the attitude with which the arbitrator view the issue, helped enterprises to obtain a fair, timely and effective scheme able to solve the problem between the parties; and Matthew D. Richardson of Alston&Bird LLP gave a practical guidance about arbitration, introduced the existing arbitration agencies around the world, explained how to apply for an arbitration procedure as well as the local laws, regulations and governing laws of arbitration courts, and guided enterprises and institutions to deal with sensitive information or business secretes, dispute resolution procedure and other issues in the action arbitration.

The seminar was warmly welcomed by the guests, and they highly praised the content. At the tea break and final question and answer session, the guests with different questions communicated with the professionals, and the experts gave answers to then and provided professional guidance. The meeting place had a warm atmosphere.
